Reality U is a great partnership event brought to CCPS by Communities in Schools, in partnership with the Chamber Education Committee and the College and Career Academy. Our Staff from each Center along with many other volunteers from local businesses, agencies, churches, and groups, get to participate as guides in the experience. Based on a test each 9th grader at each of our 3 high schools takes, and informed by their GPA, they are assigned a career, a family sometimes, and a set of circumstances that simulate a month in the life of a 26-year-old. They are spending their paycheck on all the necessities, plus getting insurance and paying student loans, it’s very eye-opening and fun! We are so thankful to get to do things with the schools and these other orgs – our community is making an awesome investment in the teenagers of Catoosa County! I think we’d make you proud!
Meet Tina Pinkston
LIFT's Executive Director
Hi! What an honor it is to get to be the Executive Director of LIFT Youth Center! The opportunity to connect with awesome people like YOU, our upLIFTers, is a big part of that honor. Thank you for supporting our students by helping to keep our services FREE to them! This takes a big investment from many sources – it does indeed, “take a village” – and I am just so thankful that you are in ours! I hope you enjoy these weekly upLIFT messages. Please reach out if you need me. Peace, Tina.
